Last Minute Sales Buys

I spent a few hours browsing yesterday as I lay feeling sorry for myself on the sofa, after having over-indulged somewhat on Friday evening. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise as I found several beauties in the sales which i'm keen to share with you!

John Lewis was my first port of call, here's what I found:

Hush Vienna Wrap Skirt, now £25
To wear with a sweater and ankle boots now, and a tee, denim jacket and trainers on warmer days.

Whistles Alisha Print Blouse now £35
Am thinking to wear this with blue jeans and trainers.

Boden Erica Dress now £56 also available at Boden for £30 more here
I'd ditch the white shoes that it's been styled with here and opt for my over the knee Topshop boots until the weather gets warmer.  Topped off with a leather jacket.

Boden Winifred Midi Dress now £84 (was £280)
I have a couple of weddings to attend this year and think this might work for both...

Finery Lewis Tie Detail Shirt now £34
This will work perfectly  with blue jeans and tan sandals or trainers.

Whistles Joyeux Tee now £30
You can never have enough basic tees - perfect for layering under sweaters now or under a blazer/denim jacket on Spring days.

Mint Velvet Textured Sport Trousers now £29
I've ordered these to try as I like the look of the turn up which smartens them up .  Great for work with a flat shoe or trainer.

Then I moved onto Urban Outfitters.  I had spotted several jumpers that I liked the look of a few days ago and was keen to see if they were in the sale, particularly as I'd received an email with a further 30% off sale items it's SALEONSALE if you'd like to use it!

Free People Garden Party Floral Maxi Dress now £35 (with extra 30% off)

Green Blanket Scarf now £8.40
I'm craving a splash of colour at the moment so this scarf may be just the job.

Sparkle & Fade Sparkle Top now £17.50
Perfect with a black party skirt.

Kimchi Blue Floral Midi Dress now £21
Gold is in for Spring and Summer so I'm giving this dress a whirl - it should go perfectly with a leather or denim jacket.

Not in the sale but I love this Striped Jumper £39

Both of these sales finish today so be quick, have a browse and see what bargains you can snap up!

Enjoy your Sunday,

Sue

Sunday Shopping on the Real High Street

Okay, I confess, usually I am an online clothes shopper, sat at home in my pj's and slippers or other comfortable clothing, browsing and clicking to my heart's delight. Yesterday however, I decided to venture out (yes, out out) to Golden Square shopping centre in Warrington, just a stone's throw away from my house if you're an incredible thrower, or a 30 minute drive if you're not!

As I'm not in the habit of shopping in store (don't worry I soon got the hang of it!) and I wasn't familiar with Golden Square I made a plan of action before leaving home.
I knew there were several shops I wanted to visit having looked at the Golden Square website.  I listed the pieces that I was looking for, and the shops that I wanted to visit.

There were 4 shops on my shortlist -

H&M, because who doesn't love a bit of H&M?
TopShop, to check out their denim and see if they had a teddy coat in stock that I had spotted a few days earlier.
TK Maxx, for no reason other than I love to have a rummage around on their rails, hoping for a designer bargain,
Monsoon, for a camel coat and possibly some knitwear.

Before beginning to shop I despatched my husband and two sons off to a cafe - there are loads of coffee shops and cafes to choose from here - including a rather delicious looking ice cream parlour and waffle shop.  Their choice was Tim Horton's who took care of them well ( very friendly staff apparently, as were all the staff here) while I shopped happily - alone and uninterrupted! Bliss.

First stop - H&M

I then moved onto Topshop.  Sadly I didn't find the Lucy Teddy coat there but I did try this beauty on which is a wool blend, on sale for around £60.

They also didn't disappoint with their range of denim - every style had a place on their shelves.

Plus these faux fur coats, also on sale, for £40 or less.  They reminded me of my black faux fur coat which I bought in TopShop Manchester many moons ago and which I still love to wear...

On my way to the next shop on my list I stopped off at Kenji which has just recently opened at Golden Square..

It's full of home stuff and knick knacks, including their trademark Japanese dolls.

My next stop was TK Maxx

I found several fab pieces in there, but none came home with me..this time!

On the way to my final stop I popped into River Island for a quick browse -

Then onto my last stop, Monsoon.  They have some great pieces each season so it's always worth a browse particularly at sale time..

I had a thorough browse and tried a few things on..all of which were heavily discounted.

So, was my visit to Golden Square, Warrington a success?  Yes!  I bought the camel Monsoon Coat!  You may have seen me wearing it over on Instagram stories and you will see more of it for a long time to come.  I'm looking forward to wearing it with my Boden grey cashmere hoodie and I may just purchase the H&M pale grey hoodie I tried on in H&M on my visit too.

Until next time Golden Square..

This post was in collaboration with goldensquareuk where I was filming for them for the day.
All opinions and words in this post are however my own.

Leopard Scarf

Image from Pinterest

I adore a touch of leopard print and there's no easier way to wear it than by donning a scarf.
I favour an oversized scarves, as there are so many ways to throw them on and the surplus fabric adds to the warmth factor and makes you feel like you're wrapped up in a blanket.

Here's my leopard scarf edit, all prices run from a teeny £10 up to £50, also take a peek at this beauty from Zara:

Grey Sweater

I love a grey sweater in Autumn and Winter, and in Spring come to that.  It's a great basic piece to throw on with jeans, trousers or a skirt.  It's super easy to wear, cosy and practical.  What's not to love?

Here's my grey sweater edit for you, prices range from £25 to £200.  I'm also loving this fairisle jumper:

Polka Dot Dress

Polka dots are a classic print and are therefore a must-have for your wardrobe.  They are fab in tops, skirts (I've bought 2 this season!)  and dresses.  Today I have edited my favourite dresses for you just because I'm wearing a polka dot dress today which I have had for over 3 years but which doesn't get worn enough.  Today I'm wearing it with a black cashmere sweater, opaque tights and over the knee black boots.  It's also perfect to wear on warmer days without the sweater, bare tanned (or fake-tanned) legs and barely there high heels.

Here are some of my current favourites, with prices ranging from £20 to £100 there should be one for your budget, or try thisthis or this from H&M.
