Snuggly Knits

So today I wore an extra snuggly knit for the first time this season and it felt really good!  It was partly due to the changeable weather and topsy turvy temperatures - warm one minute and cold the next, and partly due to feeling a bit fragile following an evening with friends...a cosy sweater was just the tonic, without the gin, definitely without the gin!

The jumper I wore today was from La Redoute last year but they are doing a similar one this season, plus there's 25% off at the moment with code 25OFF. Oh, and size up for a slouchier fit - I bought mine in a size 16 (i'm usually an 8/10) primarily because that was the only size in stock, but it works.  Slouchy is good. I always wear a soft long sleeve tee under mine too to avoid any itchiness..like this Boden one.

Let's start with the usual Pinterest inspo...

Then onto my Edit...I confess I have already bought the River Island Grey cardigan..looking forward to wearing it with a white tee and jeans, and possibly a dress or two - not quite sure if it will make me look fab or frumpy worn with a dress..I'll let you know.

Trend Watch Autumn/Winter '17 - Polka Dots

Polka dots are a wardrobe classic and whilst they never go out of fashion they sometimes do take a back seat.
However this year were truly resurrected, taking a main role on the Autumn/Winter catwalks where they were paired with intricate pleats and ruffles and made super-sized in monochrome.
They are now seen scattered throughout the High Street, my edit of which follows after the usual Pinterest inspiration...

Before moving onto my edit of all things Polka Dot, check out this top and this dress  both from H&M and whilst this gap dress isn't actually polka dot it is well worth a look!

Trend Watch - Autumn/Winter '17 - Red

Marks and Spencer Trainers £29.50

One of the biggest trends for Autumn/Winter 17 is the colour red.

Red is not a great shade for me when it's worn next to my face but, never say never, and in the meantime I'll defintely be trying it out in accessories - shoes, bags, jewellery, embellishments..

I recently dipped my toe into the trend with a bargain pair of red culottes which are really easy to wear with trainers and a tee (see post here), and a cut price pair of sandals which are great to wear with pale blue denim (see post here) whilst the temperatures are still a little warmer.

Don't forget lipstick and nail varnish too for a quick, more affordable nod to the trend - try this Bobbi Brown lipstick , one of my favourites, and the Chanel nail varnish in Gitane  Both have 10% off in Debenhams over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Let's press on with some inspiration - from Pinterest of course - where else?!

And here are a few of my favourite red High Street finds to add a pop of colour to your day to day wardrobe.
